Alpine White, red interior, and a red Daytona tail stripe.
One, VIN XX29L9B390018, crossed the block at Mecum Kissimmee in 2020.
The other has been owned by Bill Stech since 1989 and was displayed at
Carlisle in 2019.
VIN XX29L9B383273 was never a rumor without a number. It already appeared in the 1969 Charger Daytona Registry as a 440-powered car shipped on August 30, 1969, to Vern Staley Dodge in Pittsburgh.
What remained outside the public record was the car itself—and the evidence of its full identity.
Its surviving broadcast sheet and fender tag carry the same VIN and vehicle order number. A reproduced window sticker matches those records and documents an Alpine White Charger Daytona with a red interior, delivered new in Pittsburgh.
